Anyone can organise an Acknowledgement of Country - Monash has Welcome to Country and Acknowledgement of Country guidelines which can be found here.
If you are planning to have a Welcome to Country, please send an email through to the odvc-indigenous@monash.edu mailbox to find out more information.
We are able to assist with this. Please send through an email to the odvc-indigenous@monash.edu detailing the extent of the support you require.
We also require at least three weeks notice - we want to ensure we can allocate sufficient time to action your request.
Before engaging with members of First Nations communities, you should get in contact with the team at the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous). You can also liaise directly with First Nations leadership in your faculty if applicable (e.g. Associate Dean Indigenous).

As with any media request at Monash, this should be put through to the University’s Marketing and Communications team (UMAC) who can process this request. You can reach UMAC via contact-UMAC@monash.edu
Unfortunately, we don’t have capacity to assist with these types of enquiries. If you have an assignment that focuses on Indigenous Peoples and would like further information, we'd recommend for you to get in touch with First Nations leadership within your faculty (if applicable). We also encourage you to speak with your course coordinator to learn more about the resources available to you.
