About Surveys
Intelligence & Insights administers, analyses and reports on numerous surveys to support the University's planning and quality improvement processes. Supporting the business and strategic needs of the institution, Intelligence & Insights is responsible for:
- Supporting quality improvement in teaching and learning, and the broader Monash student experience, by investigating the course experience and outcomes of students and graduates;
- Undertaking benchmarking analysis, comparing Monash’s performance on key experience and outcomes indicators against other higher education institutions; and
- Providing advice to the University community around survey design, methodology, protocols, administration and interpretation of results.
Intelligence & Insights is responsible for the conduct of two core survey programs:
- Student Evaluation of Teaching and Units (SETU): SETU is a way we get to hear from students about their experience of learning within a unit. The responses provide the University with a broad indicator of students' satisfaction with teaching and the student learning journey.
- Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT): QILT is a suite of government endorsed surveys for higher education, across the student life cycle from commencement to employment.
In addition to these core surveys, Intelligence & Insights conducts a range of regular and ad hoc surveys relating to specific University initiatives and strategic priorities.
