Welcome to the Sleep and Circadian Health Laboratory.
Our research and partnership program focuses on how sleep and internal body clocks (circadian rhythms) influence health, mood, safety and performance across the lifespan. We specialise in translational research that applies circadian neuroscience to real-world clinical and occupational settings, with particular strength in shift work and sleep loss. Working closely with industry, government and clinical partners, we develop and test targeted interventions, including light, melatonin treatments and digital tools to prevent and treat sleep and circadian disorders and to support a preventive, evidence-based approach to improving overall health and wellbeing.
The Lab is led by Professor Shantha Rajaratnam.
We are part of the School of Psychological Sciences and a member of the Sleep and Circadian Rhythms program in the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health.
