The Woodside Monash Energy Partnership is a major research partnership between Monash University and Woodside Energy to progress energy solutions for a lower carbon future.

As a prestigious PhD scholarship, scholarships are available for research that is aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and to the strategic research themes of the Woodside Monash Energy Partnership.

  • New Energy Technologies
  • Carbon Capture, Conversion and Utilisation
  • Energy Leadership

The Woodside Monash Energy Partnership Research Scholarship supports a student with living costs while studying at Monash and a research allowance to support conference attendance.

The Woodside Monash Energy Partnership is a major research partnership between Monash University and Woodside Energy to progress energy solutions for a lower carbon future.

The Excellence Top-up scholarship are available to top-ranked domestic and international students commencing Research Doctorate degrees as part of the Woodside Monash Energy Partnership in the following themes.

Research Themes:

  • New Energy Technologies
  • Carbon Capture, Conversion and Utilisation
  • Energy Leadership

These top-up scholarships help students with living costs and are awarded in addition to a Monash University Graduate Research Scholarship.

Industry-led and Multidisciplinary

As an industry-led research partnership, you will be working with supervisors from the engineering, science,  business and economics, and information technology faculties to accelerate transformational research toward a sustainable path to a lower carbon future in partnership with Woodside Energy.

The scholarship programs provide a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with the energy sector, enabling you to establish an industry presence and develop leadership networks.

How to apply

  1. Check your eligibility
  2. Express your interest 2 weeks prior to the deadline of the applicable round
  3. Seek and receive invitation to apply letter from an academic supervisor
  4. Apply for a scholarship specifying your application for the ‘Woodside Research’ (domestic students) or ‘Woodside Excellence' award (domestic and international students)
