Exploring the experiences of Indonesian migrant domestic workers in caring for older adults in Asia

Visiting fellow Andrian Liem shares his preliminary quantitative analysis from his three-phase project titled ‘EXploring the experiences of Indonesian Migrant domestic workers in caring for older adults in Asia’ (EXIMA Project).
Liem’s fellowship at Monash University, Malaysia, aims to comprehensively explore the experiences of Indonesian migrant domestic workers (IMDWs) as informal caregivers. In this session, he will share updates from phase 1 of his project, which is a cross-countries quantitative study to investigate the caregiver burden. Areas to be explored include depressive and anxiety symptoms, quality of life, self-efficacy, loneliness, resiliency, perceived social support, dementia awareness, and attitude towards dementia among IMDWs who care for older adults.
