Climate Change Research in Indonesia Round Table
Herb Feith Indonesian Engagement Centre hosted a lively roundtable on climate change research which brought together experts from various fields to share and discuss research expertise and activities. Participants attended from across the university with experts in Arts, Engineering, Urban Design, Media, IT, Education. ClimateWorks, the Monash Climate Change Communication Research Hub, and the Australia-Indonesia Centre and Monash sustainable Development Institute were all represented.
This event also offered the opportunity to meet the Australia Awards in Indonesia Fellows who joined via Zoom. The Centre will be hosting the Fellows in Melbourne in 2025. The Fellows shared their aspirations for the fellowship program - which will inform the Fellowship program planning.
In a happy coincidence, Prof Matthew Nicholson, President of Monash University Indonesia (MUI), joined the event. He shared news about the university’s growth and its role in fostering collaborations and supporting decision-makers in crafting better policies for Indonesia’s future. He also mentioned the Banten Mosaic project which underpins that MUI's strategy.
With 68 people registered, the event sparked valuable conversations about climate change research in Indonesia and set the stage for future collaborations across Monash faculties and campuses.
