Bachelor of Music graduates work in a vast range of occupations, in the corporate and business sectors, arts industry, government and private sectors.
Many musicians work simultaneously in different roles to optimise their income stream. It is common for a graduate musician to work as a freelance performer, a recording artist, a composer for film or television, and/or a private tutor. This is why the music education offered at Monash University encompasses both specialisation and diversity. Meet our graduates

Pru Montin
Bachelor of Music, 2009
Since graduating, Pru developed a full-size interactive music game, myOrchestra, moved to the USA, collaborated with Hollywood composers and directors to produce film music and was awarded the coveted biannual APRA AMCOS Professional Development Award for Film and Television.

Niran Dasika
Bachelor of Music, 2015
After his degree in Music and Japanese, Niran successfully pursued a career in jazz as a trumpeter, performing at international festivals and recording albums across Australian and Japan for Blue Note Records, Sony Music, Diskunion Records, and been named as the Jazz Bell Awards’ Young Australia Jazz Artist of the Year.
