The Master of Advanced Medical Engineering integrates engineering principles and biomedical science with innovative manufacturing methodologies. Graduates will emerge with a comprehensive understanding of biomaterials, biomechanics and cutting-edge medical technologies, equipping them with knowledge and skills to address complex challenges in healthcare and medicine.
The course focuses on integrating biomaterials into nanomaterials, drug delivery, tissue engineering, and medical devices, and contextualises these within modern fabrication methodologies like additive manufacturing. It also provides a thorough grounding in the process through which medical technologies progress towards clinical application, including the regulatory context and pathways to commercialisation.
As part of the course, students also select either an Industry or Research stream, allowing them to further tailor their learning and experience.

Minimum Entry Requirements
Qualifications
A four-year Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a discipline relevant to the specialisation to be studied within the master's course, as approved by the Faculty, with at least high credit (65%) average.
*Telecommunications Engineering will not be offered in Semester 2, 2026.

Full fee
Fees are subject to change annually.
Fees are per 48 credit points which represents a standard full-time course load for a year. The fees for 2027 are:- Domestic students: A$51,840
- International students: A$59,740
