The Master of Advanced Urban Systems Engineering is for you if:- You have a degree in engineering and are seeking to specialise in the area of urban systems and infrastructure
- You have experience working in urban systems and infrastructure engineering and wish to challenge and extend your knowledge and expand your understanding and perspective
- You are seeking to advance your career by conducting leading-edge research in urban systems engineering.
The Master of Advanced Urban Systems Engineering provides a comprehensive overview of the key components of urban sustainability by integrating fundamentals of environmental engineering, water management, transportation and urban planning with knowledge of smart technologies and systems to provide resilience to environmental challenges.
You’ll gain a holistic understanding of the balance needed to foster the development of livable and sustainable cities in the context of growing populations and the challenges posed by climate change.
As part of the course, students also select either an industry or research stream, allowing them to further tailor their learning and experience.
You need to satisfy the following entrance requirements to be considered for entry to this course.
Minimum Entry Requirements
Qualifications
A four-year Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a discipline relevant to the specialisation to be studied within the master's course, as approved by the Faculty, with at least high credit (65%) average.
*Telecommunications Engineering will not be offered in Semester 2, 2026.

Full fee
Fees are subject to change annually.
Fees are per 48 credit points which represents a standard full-time course load for a year. The fees for 2027 are:- Domestic students: A$51,840
- International students: A$59,740
