2014 Castan Centre Dinner

The Castan Centre for Human Rights Law invites you to its biennial human rights gala. This dinner is a vital fundraiser for the Centre's many policy, public education and research programs. We hope that you will join us for a celebratory evening on Albert Park Lake with Australias growing human rights community

Keynote speaker

Dr Tim Soutphommasane, Federal Race Discrimination Commission, who commenced his five-year appointment on 20 August 2013.

During his term, Dr Soutphommasane has been an advocate for a fairer Australia and drive the Commission's effects to combat racism. His thinking on multiculturalism and national identity has been influential in reshaping debates in Australia and Britain. Dr Soutphommasane played a key role in arguing against proposals to water down federal protections against race hatred. Recently, he wrote here on the importance of cultural harmony and social cohesion in light of the latest tensions in the Australian community over national security.

Ticket Prices

Full price tickets are $175 for an individual and $1750 for a table of 10

NGO and concession tickets are $105 for an individual and $1050 for a table of 10

If you would like to purchase a table including both concession-priced and full-priced tickets, please simply purchase the requisite number of individual tickets (see below for purchase options) and we will ensure that you and your guests are seated together.

For anyone purchasing tables or multiple tickets, we will contact you approximately three weeks prior to the event to confirm the names of your guests.
