Annual Update
The Annual Update of courses is a critical part of Monash University’s quality assurance process and course governance requirements. The Annual Update allows faculties to update academic course information and ensure that the changes are subject to the necessary approval level in preparation for publication in the Handbook the following year. If the Annual Update for a course is not completed, the faculty cannot continue to admit students to the course.
At the time of the Annual Update, the academic course information will be submitted to the same level of scrutiny as is required for a new course proposal to ensure ongoing compliance with Monash policies and procedures and to maintain consistency and coherence across the course portfolio.
A summary report of the Annual Update amendments and outcomes is reported to the Academic Board to provide the Board with oversight of course changes that have been delegated to the Dean of a faculty for approval.
