Recognising Education Excellence
Do you know an educator or a team at Monash who demonstrates excellence in education? Perhaps it is you or your team?
At Monash University, we are committed to fostering a culture of educational excellence—whether through groundbreaking curriculum design, inspiring student engagement, or transformative educational practices. By recognising and sharing educational achievements, we not only reward excellence but also inspire others.
Staff and students are invited to recognise an educator who has made a meaningful difference by completing this form. Educators may also self-nominate if their work demonstrates innovation, excellence, and impact. When completing the form, you are given a choice to leave your name or to remain anonymous.
Recognise an excellent educator now. It only takes two minutes!
Why should you do this?
All those nominated via an education excellence form will receive an email highlighting the reasons for their nomination, as well as the name of the person who completed the nomination, unless they have chosen to remain anonymous.
Simply taking a moment to recognise someone’s efforts is a powerful and meaningful gesture. Everyone appreciates being acknowledged for doing something valuable or impactful.
If nothing further happens, it might brighten the educator's day – and who knows, it could be the first step toward something even bigger and more exciting.
Sharing stories of excellence
The email will also include an invitation for the nominated educator or team to submit a 3 minute story (video, audio, or text) that showcases their approach and impact. This is entirely optional, with no expectation to participate.
Submitted stories may be featured on the Professional Learning Hub – a space for sharing resources, ideas, and examples of good educational practice. In some cases, this may lead to invitations to create a Be Inspired article or a Monash Teaching Community blog post.
Exceptional stories may lead to an invitation to apply for the Vice-Chancellor’s Education Excellence Awards, a prestigious recognition of teaching excellence. Who knows – the sharing of stories might also lead to further opportunities for collaboration with other great educators, and consideration for invitation to work towards an application for the Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT).
