Monash University's Education Excellence Program (EEP) is an internationally accredited professional recognition programme leading toAdvance HE Fellowship.

About the program

Through the Monash Education Academy, Monash University has been running the Education Excellence Program since 2019, enabling academic and professional staff who teach and support learning to gain recognition of their practice, impact and leadership.

The Education Excellence Program is self-directed, allowing participants to navigate their learning journey with the structured assistance of a mentor and through targeted workshops that help refine their fellowship application.

Duration

This is a six-month program.

Eligibility & Intakes

The program is funded by the University and open to professional, academic, full-time, contract or sessional staff who can demonstrate sufficient experience.

We offer two intakes annually, with the first starting in February and the second in May.

Our program is aligned to the current Professional Standards Framework (PSF) 2023.

Categories of Fellowship offered at Monash

Associate Fellowship is a suitable category of fellowship for recognising professionals from diverse backgrounds in higher education (HE) teaching and/or support for learning. This category allows individuals to demonstrate their adherence to some of the PSF 2023 Dimensions, fulfilling the criteria outlined in PSF 2023 Descriptor 1.
Is Associate Fellowship for you?
Individuals seeking Associate Fellowship may include those who are relatively new to teaching and/or supporting learning, possessing a limited teaching portfolio. This could encompass sessional or part-time staff, along with early career researchers who have taken on teaching responsibilities. Additionally, individuals with various roles supporting HE learning, such as technicians, librarians, learning technologists, career advisors, and other professional staff, may also apply. The eligibility is not solely based on one's role; rather, applicants need to assess if they possess ample evidence of suitable teaching and/or support for learning practices to craft a compelling application.
Fellowship (Descriptor 2) is the suitable category for acknowledging professionals across diverse contexts whose higher education (HE) teaching and/or support for learning practice demonstrates proficiency in all 15 PSF 2023 Dimensions, aligning with the criteria outlined in PSF 2023 Descriptor 2.
Is Fellowship for you?
Fellowship is the appropriate category for acknowledging individuals across various contexts whose interaction with learners displays extensive breadth and depth, enabling them to demonstrate proficiency in all PSF 2023 Dimensions. This may encompass staff with substantial teaching responsibilities or professional staff supporting HE learning across all Dimensions. Role independence is emphasised; applicants should assess if they possess sufficient evidence of teaching and/or support for learning practice, meeting the required breadth and depth for a successful application.
Senior Fellowship is granted to professionals who exhibit alignment with Descriptor 3 (D3) of the Professional Standards Framework (PSF) 2023, showcasing excellence in teaching and supporting learning within higher education. This designation is appropriate for individuals whose extensive knowledge and impactful practice serve as a foundation for guiding or influencing the learning and teaching practices of others, including peers, colleagues, and mentees, towards fostering high-quality learning.
Is Senior Fellowship for you?
Senior Fellows play pivotal roles in shaping academic practice and higher education learning across diverse settings. Collaborating with and leveraging the expertise of colleagues, peers, mentees, and others, they actively facilitate, guide, and drive change, while also leading and influencing the enhancement of practices in various global contexts. Their impactful contributions significantly benefit students, enriching their learning experiences in multifaceted ways.
Senior Fellowship is independent of specific roles, allowing for leadership and influence in diverse contexts where you may guide or impact the practices of others. It's crucial to assess if you possess adequate evidence to fulfill the requirements outlined in Descriptor 3.
Principal Fellowship is not offered internally at Monash.Principal Fellowship is designed for individuals with extensive experience, showcasing a consistent track record of effectively leading strategic initiatives in the realm of high-quality learning. Staff who wish to apply for this category can only do so via a direct submission to Advance HE. How to apply

Step 1

Register to attend the next available information session about the Education Excellence Program (EEP)
Step 2

After the information session, we will open a one-month window for expressions of interest (EOI). EOI forms will be emailed to interested participants.
Step 3

Our academic team will review all expressions of interest within two weeks and select candidates for the program.
Step 4

Notifications regarding the outcomes will be sent by the MEA.
