Creating community in your classroom

Overview

This module offers participants an overview of the literature which addresses the need to develop students' social comfort in a university setting and provides a range of simple, yet extremely effective, teaching strategies which assist any teacher to build classroom community quickly and effectively.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this module, you will be able to:

  1. Purposefully build community in your classrooms.
  2. Maintain an interactive learning environment and improve student participation.
  3. Apply community building strategies in a practice context.
