Hosting workshops

If you’ve hosted a workshop before, then you’ll notice a few changes. If you’re new to hosting workshops we’re happy to answer questions. There are now two options for running a NHET-Sim workshop. For each option we set out what you need to do and what the NHET-Sim office will do.

Option 1 – I want to run my own NHET-Sim workshop

There is a cost of $665 including GST for a full day (C2 or 2x S-modules) workshop registration and $375 including GST for a half-day (Single S-module) workshop registration.

You can run the workshop for your organisation’s staff members only or open up to invite participants from outside your organisation (external participants).

What you need to do

• Register your NHET-Sim workshop with the NHET-Sim office. Please contact med-nhet-sim@monash.edu
• Book a NHET-Sim facilitator directly using the contact information here
• Organise the room, catering (optional), facilitator travel and accommodation (if applicable)
• Recruit your own participants and external participants
• You need to send the following details to NHET-Sim:
  • Name/s of NHET-Sim faculty running the workshop
  • Name of co-facilitator
  • Date of workshop
  • Location of workshop

At least two weeks prior to a workshop, you need to send the NHET-Sim office the following information:

• List of participant names and email addresses

After the workshop, the NHET-Sim office requires the following information:

• Faculty evaluation forms
• Attendance sheets

Form templates are available in the F1 module of the LMS. Information is to be emailed to med-nhet-sim@monash.edu

Workshop hosting registration Fee

The NHET-Sim workshop registration fee ensures your workshop is officially recognised as a NHET-Sim workshop and includes the following:

• Advertise your workshop to participants through the NHET-Sim network
• Access to the NHET-Sim e-learning modules for your workshop participants
• Administration of the NHET-Sim Learning Management System
• Provide participants online access to certificates. Participants will have to attend a workshop and complete relevant online modules prior to the workshop. When workshop attendance has been officially marked off and participants have completed the online component, participants will be able to generate their own certificate online.
• Collating evaluation data for reporting including to CPD endorsing/accrediting colleges

This is a single fee for each workshop. It is not per participant.

• $665 including GST registration fee for each full day workshop (C2 or 2x S modules) to the NHET-Sim office.
• $375 including GST registration fee for each half day workshop (Single S-module: S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S9, S10, S12) to the NHET-Sim office

The registration fees are due 4 weeks before the workshop.

Booking your facilitator

Your facilitator must be registered as NHET-Sim faculty. Facilitator payment as well as travel and accommodation must be discussed and agreed upon between the host organisation and facilitator prior to the workshop. If you have less than 12 participants, then one facilitator is adequate while 13-24 participants will require 2 facilitators and anything over would require 3 facilitators.

What your participants need to pay

• You may offer the workshops free to your participants
• If you charge external participants to attend the workshops, we recommend $550 including GST for a full-day workshop and $300 including GST for a half-day workshop

Option 2 – The NHET-Sim office facilitates your workshop (Previously Option 3)

There is a cost of $5500 (incl GST) for a full day workshop and $3000 (incl GST) for a half-day workshop.

What you need to do

• Organise the room, catering (optional), facilitator travel and accommodation (if applicable)
• Recruit your own participants

At least two weeks prior to a workshop, you need to send the NHET-Sim office the following information:

• Date of workshop
• Location of workshop
• List of participant names and email addresses

An attendance sheet template and evaluation forms are available in the F1 module of the LMS or can be provided.

Workshop fee

The workshop fee includes the following

• Facilitator fees
• NHET-Sim Workshop registration fee
  • $5500 per full-day workshop (C2)
  • $3000 per half-day if just one module is offered. (S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S9, S10, S12)
  • $5500 per full-day of two modules offered. (S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S9, S10, S12)

• Name/s of NHET-Sim faculty running the workshop
