About Open Day

Monash Open Days are on the following dates:
- Peninsula campus - Saturday 1 August, 10am - 2pm
- Caulfield campus - Saturday 1 August, 10am - 2pm
- Clayton campus - Sunday 2 August, 10am - 4pm
- Parkville campus - Sunday 16 August, 10am - 2pm
If you’re thinking of studying at Monash, Open Day is the perfect opportunity to have all your questions answered and discover what Monash life is like.
While most of our visitors are Year 10, 11 and 12 students, you’ll also find lots of activities and information tailored to students interested in graduate degrees and mature age applicants.
Family and friends of those considering university study are welcome to join too. This is a time when students will need advice and help making the right decisions for their future, so bring along anyone involved in your study journey.
We recommend checking which campus has your preferred course, as each campus will generally promote the courses they offer. All of our ten faculties will be represented at our Clayton campus. We’ve also put together a snapshot of each of our campuses below to help you choose which one is best suited to your interest areas. Of course, you can visit more than one campus as well.
Our Peninsula campus offers a vibrant and supportive community setting, with nearly 4000 students. It specialises in nursing, physiotherapy, paramedicine, occupational therapy, education and business administration courses.
Clayton is our largest campus, with more than 45,000 students from eight of Monash’s ten faculties represented here. It has the feel of a university town with everything you need all in one place.
Caulfield is Monash's second largest campus, with over 17,000 students, and is home to Monash Art, Design and Architecture and Monash Business School, as well as some arts, medicine, nursing and health sciences, and IT courses.
Our specialist campus in Parkville is located at the heart of Australia’s leading health and biomedical precinct. Dedicated to pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences, the campus is well connected to major hospitals and research organisations. Close to 2700 students study here.

Open Day is your opportunity to experience Monash up close. You’ll be able to chat to current students, speak to academics and recruitment staff, and get tailored advice on courses, pathways and career options.
You can also tour our libraries, lecture theatres, labs and accommodation – and get a real sense of what life at Monash is like.
We’ve made attending Open Day even easier. Study area zones bring together the most relevant information and experiences in one place, and key activities run throughout the day, so you can explore at your own pace, without needing to schedule every minute.

Before you arrive

Registering in advance means we can keep in touch with you in the lead-up to Open Day, providing tips and information to help you plan your day.

If you didn’t receive a confirmation email from us after you registered, and would like to double-check your registration went through, email opendaysupport@monash.edu and our staff will be able to check your details.
The absolute best part about Monash Open Day is that you don’t even have to make a plan if you don’t want to! Most of our activities run all day or repeat regularly, so you can totally explore at your own pace.
But if you are a planner, then our activity planner is your one-stop-shop. You can use it to check out everything on offer—from hands-on workshops, campus tours, and course info sessions to taster classes, panels, and free giveaways.
Just use the filters to narrow things down by campus, study area, topic, or activity type. When you see something you like, make sure to save it to your personal My Open Day Plan. From there, you can easily copy the list or email it to yourself so it's ready to go on the day.

Getting to Open Day

Limited free parking is available on our Caulfield, Clayton and Peninsula campuses during Open Day. Be aware that they fill up quickly, so if you (or your friends/parents/guardians) do intend on driving, make sure to get there early.
Caulfield
The only car park available at Caulfield campus is Building J, located next to the old Caulfield Plaza complex. Limited free and paid parking is available on surrounding streets – please note that metered areas near our Caulfield campus are not controlled by the University.
Clayton
If you want to check out the science, engineering, information technology or medicine, nursing and health sciences zones, the closest car park is N1 located on Research Way. We recommend accessing this via Bayview Avenue, as the Scenic Boulevard entrance can get congested.
For other study area zones, we recommend parking in the SE car parks on Scenic Boulevard. Just a reminder that the Wellington Road entrance to campus can get busy at peak times, so get there early to avoid the wait.
Parkville
Please note, free parking is not available at our Parkville campus. We recommend either taking public transport (see below for details), or using the street parking available along Royal Parade or Walker Street.
Peninsula
There are two car parks available on campus, N1 and S1 car parks, which are both easily accessible.
All of our campuses are easily accessible via public transport. See the PTV website for timetables and more information.
Caulfield
By train: Travel by train on the Frankston, Pakenham or Cranbourne line. Get off at Caulfield Station.
By tram: Route 3/3a between East Malvern and Melbourne University (Stop 57 - Caulfield Railway Station/Derby Rd)
By bus:
- 900 - between Rowville and Monash University (Caulfield Station stop)
- 624 - between Kew and Carnegie (Caulfield Station stop)
Clayton
By train: Travel by train on the Pakenham or Cranbourne line. Get off at Huntingdale Station and catch a bus. Buses leave for Clayton campus every 15-20 minutes. The 601 service express shuttle will be running on Sunday 3 August from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
By bus: Stop in the Bus Interchange (Monash University stop)
- 601 - between Huntingdale Station and Monash University
- 630 - between Elwood and Monash University
- 631 - between Waverly Gardens SC and Southland Shopping Centre
- 703 - between Blackburn and Middle Brighton
- 733 - between Box Hill and Oakleigh
- 737 - between Croydon and Monash University
- 802/804/862 - different routes between Dandenong and Chadstone Shopping Centre
- 900 - between Rowville and Monash University
Other buses include:
- 742 - between Eastland and Chadstone (Monash University/Research Way stop)
- 800 - between Dandenong and Chadstone (Wellington Road stop)
Peninsula
A free shuttle bus is available between Frankston Station and our Peninsula campus on Saturday 2 August. The first bus leaves Frankston Station at 9.30am and will run every half hour until 2.30pm.
By train: Travel by train on the Frankston line until the final stop at Frankston. You can then walk 20 minutes from Frankston Station to campus or take our free shuttle bus (details above).
By bus: Stop on Moorooduc Highway (Millard St/Moorooduc Hwy stop)
- 775 - between Frankston and Lakewood
- 782 - between Frankston and Flinders
- 783 - between Frankston and Hastings
- 887 - between Frankston and Rosebud
Other buses include:
- 776 - between Frankston and Pearcedale (Moorooduc Hwy/Hastings Rd stop)
Parkville
By train: Travel by train on the Upfield line until Royal Park Station. Walk 10 minutes to campus.
By tram: Route 19 between Flinders Street Station and North Coburg (Stop 16 - Walker St/Royal Pde)
By bus: Route 505 between Moonee Ponds and Melbourne University (Princes Park/Royal Parade stop).

When you’re here

Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with our campuses. It’s probably your first time visiting Monash, and you won’t be the only one.
Before Open Day, take a look at our event maps to see where everything is going to be on the day.
On the day, we’ll also have printed campus maps, and our friendly student ambassadors can help you find your way. Keep an eye out for students in the white jackets - they’re our walk-me-there ambassadors, and they’ll take you directly where you need to go.
Beyond a few additional food trucks, many of our campus retailers will be open across our Open Day events. Check out our food and retail webpage to see what’s available at each campus.
Each Open Day event will feature a designated quiet space for visitors who may feel overwhelmed or anxious. These low-sensory rooms offer a private, calming environment where you can take a break and recharge for as long as needed before returning to the event.

Always a great question! There’ll be a range of giveaways up for grabs at Open Day, but get there early, as they often run out.
You’re not alone; many students feel unsure about their next steps. Especially when all you can think about is finishing school. Open Day is a great place to start exploring your options in a low-pressure, supportive environment. We have so many activities on offer at Open Day across our interest areas, so take a look at what’s happening in each study area zone to see what feels like the right fit for you.
Each of our study area zones showcases what it’s like to study and work in that field, with activities running all day or repeated throughout the day. Take your time, ask questions and see what resonates with you – you might even uncover a course or pathway you hadn’t previously considered.
And if you’re torn between interests, you don’t have to limit yourself to one degree. Check out our double degrees, which can give you more flexibility and options after you graduate.
