Student Code of Conduct

The new Student Code of Conduct, effective 24 February 2025, outlines the responsibility for students to engage ethically, respectfully and with integrity in their studies and in interactions with peers, staff and the broader community.

Beyond supporting Monash’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and global responsibility, the Student Code of Conduct aligns with Monash’s broader objectives of fostering an inclusive, respectful, and thriving academic and research community.

The development of the new Student Code of Conduct is part of a broader project that involved a review of the University’s policies relating to its culture that establish expectations of behaviour for staff and students and reflect Monash’s identity. This project has resulted in other important policies which sit alongside and support the Student Code of Conduct, and include the Equity, Diversity and Anti-discrimination Policy suite, Staff Code of Conduct Policy suite, and the Sexual Harm Prevention and Response Policy suite.

A review of the student misconduct procedures will be undertaken in 2025 with updates to follow.
