Gender equality
Monash University Accommodation is committed to ending sexual assault and harassment on campus. Working closely with the student Equity, Diversity and Inclusion department at Monash University, the Monash University Accommodation Gender Equality committee membership is made up of residents and led by members of our Residential Life Team and Monash University Accommodation Senior Management.
As the committee continues to raise awareness of the importance of consent, creating cultures that are free from discrimination and harassment and how we can all work to stop Gender Based Violence (GBV), this page will highlight our success in this space.
In 2024, Monash University Accommodation undertook an Independent review of sexual harm prevention and response at Monash University Accommodation. A summary report is available here. The results of the independent review found that prevention initiatives and response processes are effective at Monash University Accommodation, and residents reported positive cultures that prioritise safety and respect.
