International conference in Taiwan

Professor Anne Pender and Dr Peter Beaglehole presented at the Musical Theatre in Contemporary Taiwan: International Conference.

Professor Anne Pender (right) and Dr Peter Beaglehole (on screen) with Dr Lu, Zi-Hui (Shanghai University of International Studies) presented a paper at the Musical Theatre in Contemporary Taiwan Conference hosted by the National Taiwan Normal University Graduate Institute for Performing Arts on 25-26 April 2025. The paper, co-presented by Anne and Peter, entitled "Circa on Tour: Taiwan, Australian Comedy, Contemporary Circus and Music Theatre", was one of some twenty papers presented at this special conference in celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the Institute in Taipei. A number of industry figures and scholars attended.

Anne Pender is a Chief Investigator and Peter Beaglehole is a Research Fellow on the Australian Research Council project Comedy Country: Australian Performance Comedy as an Agent of Change.
