Particle packing and agglomeration

This project aims to study the packing and flow of nanoparticles by DEM, supported by MD simulation to determine the inter-particle forces. The outcomes would be useful for product/process control of ultrafine minerals under different conditions.

This project is to study the behaviour of particles (particularly fines and ultrafines) in different liquid media, and develop an effective way to assemble particles into ordered structures by controlling interparticle forces, particle geometry, and surrounding media. The outcomes will lead to the optimum packing in the manufacturing of advanced materials and/or the control of packing-related mineral processes.
