Visit the Emerging Technologies Research Lab
The Emerging Technologies Research Lab hosts visiting researchers and academic scholars (from PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to senior academics) at Monash University’s Caulfield campus- a short 15 minute train ride from Melbourne's CBD. The visits are designed to encourage international research networks and collaboration and are a great way to work alongside our internationally acclaimed research lab.
During the stay visitors will have the opportunity to present their work to our research community, join our Lab activities and will be co-located with the Emerging Technologies Research Lab members. Visitors will have access to the Monash University library, selected online resources and a hot desk will be provided (when available).
Funding your visit
Monash University Emerging Technologies Research Lab does not fund external visitors. Visits are funded through a variety of external sources, often from the countries in which the applicant is based, their home institution or are personally funded.
Supervision
The Emerging Technologies Research Lab does not engage in PhD supervision with visitors - unless this has been established in a separate agreement with their home university. Visitors are invited to present their work and are given feedback by the group which includes senior academics, research fellows and PhDs.
Applying for a visa
A number of our visitors apply for a Research 408 visa, however we recommend getting in touch with your local visa agency to confirm. As part of the application process, HR will provide an official letter and advise which visa to apply for if you are accepted. The ETLab is unable to provide visa advice.
