The Scholarship has been established to honour the memory of AEMO’s founding Chief Executive Officer, energy reform leader and Monash alumnus Matt Zema, and is designed to support the next generation of leaders to meet Australia's energy sector challenges.The scholarship provides a $50,000 per annum stipend and will support the successful applicant for the approved duration of their PhD candidature, to a maximum of three-and-a-half years.

The Jemena Industry Leaders Scholarship has been established to recognise the philanthropic support provided by Jemena Limited. Awarded based on academic achievement and need. Aimed at current students enrolled in an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Engineering at a Monash campus in Australia. Preference given to students specialising in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering, and women in an underrepresented area ie STEM.
We're offering three fully funded PhD positions for people who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and want to undertake energy transition research that is meaningful to their communities. These roles sit within Monash Information Technology, Monash Engineering or Monash Business School, and work in partnership with the Monash Energy Institute.Each 3.5-year scholarship provides a $52,352 per annum tax-free stipend (indexed), top-up support, relocation allowance, and research funding. Scholars also receive guidance from the Indigenous Research Team and are part of a growing community of Indigenous researchers at Monash.
