Classroom PCs

Most of our teaching spaces have an in-room PC installed and ready to use. Instead of using your own laptop, you could save your work on a USB and upload it on the PC provided.

PCs are already connected to Monash AV systems and pre-configured to use any other equipment that's available (such as a Smart Podium digital inking device).

The following rooms provide a PC:
- all mainstream and premium lecture theatres – located on the front left side of the lectern just underneath the top surface
- all lecture rooms and classrooms with AV equipment installed – located in a white or beige cabinet in the front corner of the room. The front panel of the PC is accessible through a hole in the cabinet (so you won’t need to open it). Teachers have access to the ON/OFF button and the CD/DVD drive and USB slots.
Breakout spaces don't have a PC.
Classrooms
1. Select PC on the control panel – the light beneath PC on the panel will flash for a short time then go on to being constantly lit. When this happens the projector may seem to be on but you still won't be able to see the PC displaying.
2. Try pushing the ON/OFF button briefly (just a quick push). If the PC is asleep, this should wake it up.
Lecture rooms and theatres
1. Select the Lectern PC on the control panel.
2. Display it by touching a destination on the right side of the control panel (left, right or both displays). If it is set to None, it won't display on the front wall. (You wouldn't need to push the ON/OFF button to wake up a PC in a lecture room or theatre).
The PC will include regularly used programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and other essential programs.
The PC will have a few USB ports along with a CD or DVD drive.
