Hearing augmentation

Monash has three types of hearing augmentation technology in audio visual spaces, which vary depending on the type and size of the room.

Most large theatre spaces have hearing augmentation built in - either with a hearing loop or Infrared (IR) emitter technology. Rooms with inbuilt IR have receivers for the user located in the room.

Some smaller tutorial rooms work with IR emitters and receivers that are brought into the room. You'll need to contact eSolutions on 9905 1777 or visit eSolutions staff located in Monash Connect at least two days before your class, so the emitter can be installed for your use.

Campus locations

Hearing augmentation systems are installed in the following locations. They display a sign advising which channel to use.
