Lectures at Monash are recorded using the Echo 360 Learning Capture platform, which is integrated with Moodle and Syllabus+. This allows you to upload presentations as well as video recordings.
Learning Capture replaced Monash University Lectures Online (MULO) in January 2017.
You can check Allocate+ to see which teaching spaces provide recording equipment. You'll see room suitability and locations listed in SISfm maps.
To view photographs of rooms you'll need to log in to SISfm, once there you can learn more information about:
The integration of Learning Capture with Syllabus+ allows the automated recording of timetabled events.
Rooms equipped with Echo 360, can record the following activities:
- Lectures
- Seminars
- Lectorials
Live-streaming events, recordings of non-timetabled activities and ad-hoc bookings will not be scheduled automatically, you'll need to request these at least one day before the event.
The Learning capture platform is integrated with Moodle making it more convenient for both teachers and students.
- Access to material is controlled by teachers and Moodle administrators by using the Echo 360 tool with their Moodle unit page.
- Each Moodle unit is linked by Moodle administrators or teachers to its current Echo 360 section. It will be unlinked at the end of the semester or before any rollover.
Recordings become available between 30 to 120 minutes after a lecture finishes. The processing time depends on the length of the recording.
Lectures will be stored online for the duration of the semester. As lecture content can change between years, Learning Capture does not provide student access to previous years' recordings, unless specifically requested by academic staff. After two years Learning Capture will delete any stored recordings.
