SMART Ink – the standard program that comes with the SMART Podium device.

• An on-screen menu displays all features as well as highlighting pens and a clear all button to erase all digital inking on the screen at once.
• Any annotations you make will be static, meaning they won’t move if the PC presentation is moved.

Windows Ink – this program comes with the Microsoft Office suite.

• It doesn’t allow use of the buttons along the top of the Smart Podium. Instead, you’ll need to use the pens menu that appears in Word and other Microsoft programs. Erasing with this program is not as precise as SMART Ink.
• Any annotations that you make will stick to, or move with, the document when you scroll up or down. These annotations can also be saved with the document.
• Apart from these differences, SMART Ink and Windows Ink basically work the same way.

SMART Notebook – this program works like a series of separate whiteboards (or blackboards).

• You can write on a page (also known as a board), then move on to the next board and write another page of notes or draw diagrams.
• At any point you can jump around between pages and boards.
