Zoom AI Companion disclaimer

Zoom AI Companion disclaimer

The host of your Zoom session has activated Zoom’s AI companion for the session. Zoom AI companion functionality will provide only the Zoom session participants with an AI-generated transcription of the session; the host may have also activated an AI summary of the session that the host will receive. Zoom participants may also utilise Zoom AI companion features made available for the session, such as ‘catch up’ (which enables users to receive an AI-generated summary of parts of the session they may have missed). Session invitees who do not attend the session are unable to retrieve transcripts or summaries of the session from Zoom.

As Zoom AI transcripts and summaries are AI-generated, they may not be accurate; participants are to satisfy themselves of the accuracy of any transcripts and summaries.

Please note: Not all features of Zoom AI are available due to Monash disabling Zoom utilising third party AI applications, as use of such third party applications with Zoom will not meet Monash’s data sovereignty requirements. Users must not enable or use any third party AI applications in connection with Zoom.

While using Zoom AI please ensure your meetings do not contain or share any sensitive, health or personally identifiable information apart from your name, which is shared by your participation in the Zoom AI enabled session. Session participant names will be used by Zoom AI when generating transcripts and summaries of the session, which will include your name in the transcripts and summaries.

Zoom Data is routed within Australia and encrypted at rest and in transit and at Monash University’s instance of Zoom. Zoom AI transient inferencing for its AI-facilitated outputs is performed by AWS-hosted Zoom-encrypted-network data centres within Australia. AI Data is retained for 30 days before being automatically removed. For further information on the use of AI Technologies in Monash University please visit: https://www.monash.edu/ai/tools-training-and-resources/ai-policies-and-guidelines

Please alert your host if you do not wish to participate in an AI-enabled meeting or would like to request that this feature be turned off.
