The VMware Academic Program (VMAP) is a comprehensive program designed specifically for academia. The program allows users easy access to the latest resource virtualisation technologies. It enables partners to gain specialised skills and certifications, demonstrating their proficiency in delivering advanced VMware technologies.

This application is available to students studying with the Faculty of Engineering, with approval (see below).

Request access to VMware

1. Submit a Service Desk request for VMware VMAP.
2. Based on who is using the software, include the following:
   1. your Monash email address
   2. Approval from Jarred Dreischl or George Nicolacopoulos.

Install VMWare VMAP

1. Go to Broadcom.
2. In the upper right corner, select Support Portal.
3. Log in by either:
   1. clicking Go To Portal (if you have an account), or
   2. clicking Register (to create a basic Broadcom account).
4. Once logged in, go to support.broadcom.com (if you're not redirected there).
5. Click the dropdown to choose the VMware Cloud Foundation division.
6. On the left, click My Downloads.
7. Search for either Fusion or Workstation.
8. Click the product name (VMware Fusion or VMware Workstation Pro).
9. From the dropdown for the Personal Use edition (it is the exact same binaries as the Commercial one), select 17.5.2 or 13.5.2
10. Download and install, then log into Broadcom.
