Geopolitical security
Achieving geopolitical security
Everyone has the right to a safe, just and equal world. Through research, advocacy and leadership, we’re shaping the agenda on how to achieve security and safety on a global scale.
At Monash, we’re working at the intersection of global conflict, human rights and international relations: from examining new forms of conflict, to recognising the gendered nation of violence and its particular impacts on race, ethnicity and religion. And we’re activating our extensive network of global partnerships and people to make a real difference in our world.
International relations
We live in a time of unprecedented change. In a world going through geopolitical transformation, political and population transformation, constant technological disruption, we need the leadership and mechanisms to uphold international security, now more than ever.
Protecting human rights
Monash University is unrelenting in our pursuit of protecting fundamental human rights and social justice, at home and abroad. Our global conscience is imbued in our teaching and learning, and it drives our research and partnerships.
Ending modern slavery
We're helping lead the interrogation of modern slavery and human trafficking and its responses in the Asia-Pacific region and across Europe over the past decade, including forming the first of its kind Modern Slavery Law Clinic in 2019.
