MoodMission - Smartphone app for anxiety brings help to thousands
Low moods and anxious feelings, if left untreated, can lead to depression and anxiety disorders. MoodMission is a smartphone app that helps users to learn better ways of coping with these feelings. MoodMission is designed to be used by anyone, whether they have a clinically significant anxiety or mood disorder, or just want to find ways of coping with day-to-day feelings of anxiousness or low moods.
Doctor of Psychology student, Mr David Bakker, and Associate Professor Nikki Rickard, both of the Monash Institute of Cognitive and Clinical Neurosciences (MICCN), began developing the evidence-based app back in 2015. A successful crowd funding campaign, together with donations from Monash University's Campus Community Division, enabled them to launch the Android version early in 2017. A new version of the app was launched in June 2018. Find out more.
