Mob at Monash
Mob at Monash
Meet some of the mob who work at Monash in a wide range of roles. Our staff make a difference to the teams they work with, the communities they work in, and the research they undertake.
Dr Cammi Murrup-Stewart, Lecturer, Psychology
My Monash journey has been a transformative experience that has shaped me both personally and professionally. From my PhD adventure at the prestigious Gukwonderuk Unit, to being the first Aboriginal lecturer at the School of Psychological Sciences fills me with immense pride, as I'm given the opportunity to give back to my community by shining a light on Indigenous knowledge and culture. I lead the Murrup Bung-allambee Indigenous Psychology Group, which allows me to guide and mentor students, develop and teach innovative curricula and lead groundbreaking research focused on enhancing First Nations wellbeing. The support I received from Indigenous academics, professional staff and staunch allies alike has not only empowered me, but it has also set a precedent for future generations of First Nations scholars in the field of psychology and wellbeing.
Olivia Bonanno, 2023 Monash Indigenous Graduate Program participant
This Monash program stood out to me against other grad programs I'd looked at in the past because it was an Indigenous grad program. I'd seen plenty of grad programs that encouraged Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply, but never a program that was specifically tailored to Mob with such broad opportunities. The transition from being a student to a young professional has been quite daunting, so being in the same stage of development as a group of Mob makes me feel supported and secure
Scottie Campbell, 2023 Monash Indigenous Graduate Program participant
Prior to joining the Indigenous Graduate Program, what interested me the most was the opportunity to work with Monash's senior executives. Given my recent academic background in international business and business management, working with the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice-President, and Director, Business Strategy would complement my majors and enable me to enhance my expertise in these fields. Additionally, Monash was providing an opportunity for international exposure (potentially in their study and research centre in Italy) and an exceptionally competitive remuneration package for a graduate role
