Recognise your professional learning activity
RECOGNISE YOUR PROFESSIONAL LEARNING ACTIVITY
Running a learning activity that helps educators enhance their teaching practice? Get it formally accredited and included in the MEA recognised professional learning catalogue.
Whether it's about deepening pedagogical approaches, exploring new tools, or refining assessment strategies, your activity may be eligible for formal accreditation.
Accredited activities appear in myDevelopment, giving participants recognition for their engagement and helping them meet the annual professional development requirement for educators.
WHY APPLY FOR RECOGNITION?
Recognition through MEA provides:
- A dedicated module Moodle to manage participants, assessments, and completion tracking
- An acknowledgement of completion on their myDevelopment training record
- A consistent and supported pathway for recognising professional learning across Monash
This program sits alongside MEA's other recognised offerings, giving educators a variety of ways to engage in and receive credit for professional learning.
WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE ELIGIBLE?
To be recognised, your activity must:
- Support educators to develop or enhance their teaching practice – for example, through pedagogy, technology, curriculum design, or assessment
- Contain at least one hour of learning
- Include at least one assessment task to demonstrate participant engagement and learning outcomes, hosted in the dedicated recognition module in Moodle
- Have at least 10 participants attending/engaged
Note: For participants to be eligible for recognised professional learning points, the activity must be delivered within the calendar year, and all assessments submitted by 4 December.
HOW IT WORKS
- Submit a quick expression of interest – Just tell us the name of your activity and who you are.
- Complete the proposal template – We'll send you a short template to capture learning outcomes, structure, and assessment tasks.
- We review your submission – Our academic team will assess alignment with MEA recognition criteria and follow up if needed.
- We set up your module Moodle – If approved, we'll create a dedicated space for your activity, including an assessment submission area. You can review and request changes before it's finalised.
- You deliver the activity – You can manage enrolments, support participants, and provide feedback on their assessment tasks. Successful completions will be recorded in myDevelopment.
- Before delivery, you can send participants further information about the program.
