Since 2017, the Hub has provided content to millions of people, many of whom are rarely exposed to accurate climate information, and delivered robust research, knowledge and ideas.

Our research is designed to help communities and policymakers in the Australia-Asian region to negotiate and make good decisions in relation to climate change and its solutions. We partner with industries and governments to investigate how critical information can be made accessible and engaging for diverse audiences, and we provide new knowledge and innovative ideas that support the implementation of climate solutions.

We draw on Monash’s world-leading expertise across disciplines and the region to build knowledge of how people are impacted by climate change and how they understand and engage with proposed solutions.

We respond to new communication media technologies, platforms and practices, and the social, political and environmental contexts in which information is circulated, and test our approach and methods through peer-reviewed research publications and rigorous evaluation.

Based in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Europe, we deliver new knowledge and innovative ideas through research, partnerships and training.

Our team includes social scientists, journalists, science communicators and designers, working together to deliver world-leading and impact-focused research and content.

Our team is located within Monash’s Faculty of Arts’ School of Media, Film and Journalism (Melbourne), the School of Arts and Social Sciences (Kuala Lumpur), at Monash University Indonesia (Jakarta) and at the Monash University European Research Foundation (Prato).
