How do I apply

If you are interested in joining our lab for a Masters of PhD project, please email Hannah Kirk with the following:

  • Your current CV
  • Full academic transcript of all undergraduate and post-graduate classes (with translations where required)
  • Contact details of at least two referees
  • An example of your written work (e.g. past university assignment or journal publication)
  • A maximum one-page document outlining where your research interests lie and what research you would like to undertake in the lab.

You may then be contacted by potential supervisors to meet either in-person or online to further discuss the possibility of joining our lab.

In addition to contacting us, you must also make a formal application to Monash University. Information about Monash Psychology postgraduate programs can be found here. Information about scholarships available to domestic and international students can be found here, and general information about costs of living in Melbourne can be found here.

What are the prerequisites?

Student applying to do postgraduate research in the CDDT Lab will have completed (or be close to completing) an APAC accredited four-year psychology program.

Entry into graduate training programs and applications for scholarships at Monash are competitive, so students should have received a H1 (first class honours) in their undergraduate program.

When should I apply?

Monash has two application rounds each year, which differ for domestic and international students. Dates for application rounds can be found here.

In general, you should contact your potential supervisor 6-8 weeks before the relevant deadline to begin planning and discussion.
