The scholarships

The Schwarzman Scholars program is a prestigious global leadership scholarship designed to prepare the next generation of leaders to navigate the complex relationship between China and the rest of the world.

The program offers a fully funded one-year Master’s degree in Global Affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Open to applicants from all academic disciplines and countries, Schwarzman Scholars provides opportunities for academic study, leadership development, cultural immersion, and engagement with influential leaders from around the world.

Benefits

Scholarship benefits include: full tuition and fees, room and board, travel to and from Beijing, an in-country study tour, health insurance, required course materials, and a $5,000 personal living stipend.

Established in 2016 by philanthropist and business leader Stephen A. Schwarzman, Schwarzman Scholars is a highly competitive global leadership program designed to prepare future leaders to navigate an increasingly interconnected world.

Based at Tsinghua University in Beijing, the program brings together outstanding students from around the globe for a fully funded one-year Master’s degree in Global Affairs. How to apply

Apply through the Schwarzman scholars website.

To apply for the Schwarzman Scholarship, you will need the following documents:

  • a professional résumé
  • two essays:
    • a leadership essay (750 words)
    • a statement of purpose (500 words)
  • your official academic transcripts from your undergraduate/master degree(s)
  • three letters of recommendation
  • a video introduction.
