Through trusted, long-term relationships, NIDR collaborates directly with Indigenous communities and organisations, including through research projects, events and workshops, to understand unique Indigenous experiences of disasters and priorities for reform. Our collaborations with government departments, emergency agencies and funding bodies are currently all project-specific.

Jagun Alliance is an Aboriginal led not for profit charity, who focus on Caring for Country through Community leadership and benefit sharing.

Girringun Aboriginal Corporation

Girringun Aboriginal Corporation, located at Cardwell in north-Queensland, represents the interests of Traditional Owners from nine tribal groups: Bandjin, Djiru, Girramay, Gugu Badhun, Gulnay, Jirrbal, Nywaigi, Warrgamay and Warungnu.

River Murray and Mallee Aboriginal Corporation

River Murray and Mallee Aboriginal Corporation (RMMAC) administers land on behalf the River Murray and Mallee people around Renmark, Berri, Barmera, Waikerie and Morgan. RMMAC heals, manages and looks after Country for all generations.

Lake Tyers Aboriginal Trust

The Lake Tyers Aboriginal Trust is a self-governing Aboriginal community committed to supporting the social, cultural, environmental and economic wellbeing of its people. Located on the lands of the Gunaikurnai people in East Gippsland, LTAT represents a community with a strong and enduring connection to Country.

Koori Mail

Established in May 1991, the Koori Mail is a fortnightly national newspaper reporting on the issues that matter to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Koori Mail gives Indigenous Australians a voice missing in the mainstream media.

Te Toi Whakaruruhau o Aotearoa

Te Toi Whakaruruhau o Aotearoa is the mātauranga Māori Disaster Risk Reduction Centre hosted at Massey University, committed to developing research that addresses issues related to disasters, natural hazards, and risk reduction.

The Thunderbird Collective in Canada exists to support Indigenous leadership in wildland fire management through advocacy, knowledge sharing, cultural practice, and sovereignty.
