Terence Jeyaretnam
Lead Facilitator, Navigating Climate-related Disclosures
Terence is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Business and Economics at Monash Business School. Until recently Terence was a Partner with EY’s Climate Change and Sustainability team based in Melbourne and lead APAC for more than a decade. He was the Executive Director and Founder of Net Balance until its acquisition by EY in 2014. Net Balance (and Net Balance Foundation) was regarded as Australia’s largest standalone sustainability and climate change practice, twice rated along the way by Business Review Weekly as one of the fastest 100 growth companies in Australia.
Terence is an environmental and sustainability advisory and assurance specialist with more than 25 years’ experience in advising governments and corporations on sustainability issues. Terence holds a degree in Environmental Engineering (UWA), is a Chartered Professional Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia. Terence was a monthly columnist on sustainability for the Engineers Australia magazine for more than 10 years, and a member of the editorial board of the US Journal Sustainability: Science, Practice and Policy.
Terence has held board roles with Engineers Media, Private Wealth Network, BCorp A/NZ, Supply Chain Sustainability School and Eco-Buy. He is presently on the Boards of AuASB, Amnesty International Australia, Australian Conservation Foundation and is the Chair of Global Citizen Australia.
