Simon has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Management, a Master of Commerce in Management, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Bachelor of Science.

Simon is a passionate educator. He has taught management- and business-related subjects for over 10 years, and has won a number of teaching excellence awards. In the classroom, Simon conveys complex academic material in simple and engaging ways, drawing on his prior work experience (i.e., 13 years in hospital administration and private practice) to demonstrate the practical relevance and usefulness of the material. Through his teaching, Simon motivates the next generation of global leaders to gain the knowledge - and develop the skills - needed to diagnose and solve real-world problems. He also inspires leaders to be the best that they can be so that they can make valuable organisational and societal contributions.

Simon is also a passionate researcher. He has presented at academic conferences, and his research interests include: performance management (e.g., goal-setting, feedback, development, and rewards), leadership, people and culture, business strategy, and workplace diversity and inclusion.
