Air travel

Melbourne has two main airports, Tullamarine and Avalon. It is expected all international conference participants will arrive at Tullamarine Airport. Further information about travelling to/from airport can be found at:

Visa

International visitors most likely will need a visa to enter Australia. Information on the type of visa to get can be found on the Australian Government – Department of Home Affairs website. They can provide advice if needed. The Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) may be the best option.

Current Covid-19 Requirements

To request an invitation letter, from the Local Organizing Committee please provide your full name, job title and affiliation (university, research centre, company, etc). Requests should be sent to the organisers at TBC.

Special Dietary Requirements

Every effort will be made to accommodate all special dietary requirements; however, advance notification is required. You will need to make yourself known to a staff member at the various catering times in order to obtain your special meal. Vegetarian options will be available at lunch and dinner. No guarantee can be made to cater for delegates who did not advise dietary requirements in advance.

The Bayesian Nonparametrics Networking Workshop cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss or damage to private property of participants either during or directly arising from the Bayesian Nonparametrics Networking Workshop.

Code of Conduct

The organisers of the Bayesian Nonparametrics Networking Workshop are dedicated to providing a positive Meeting experience for everyone, free from harassment regardless of gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion (or lack thereof).

All attendees, speakers, sponsors, staff and volunteers (‘Meeting participants’) at our Workshop are required to agree with the following code of conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event. We expect cooperation from all Meeting participants to ensure that the Meeting is a positive and safe experience for everybody.

YOUR OBLIGATIONS AS A WORKSHOP PARTICIPANT

As a Workshop participant, you agree to:

1. be respectful and considerate in speech, actions and all interactions with other Meeting participants,
2. acknowledge and respect the boundaries of fellow attendees,
3. refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour and speech,
4. respect confidentiality requests by speakers and other Workshop participants,
5. alert a member of the Code of Conduct response team (listed below) if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of this code of conduct, even if they seem inconsequential.

PROHIBITED BEHAVIOUR

This Workshop does not tolerate harassment in any form and in all forums, including at the Meeting venue, during talks or workshops, at social events associated with the Meeting and on social media.

Harassing behaviour includes, but is not limited to:

1. Stalking;
2. Deliberate intimidation;
3. Unwanted photography or recording;
4. Discriminatory images in public spaces;
5. Sustained or wilful disruption of talks or other events;
6. Use of sexual or discriminatory language or imagery, including comments or images intended to be jokes;
7. Offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual;
8. Inappropriate physical contact, which can include grabbing as well as hugging without asking or massaging without asking; and
9. Unwelcome sexual attention, which can include inappropriate questions of a sexual nature, asking for sexual favours or repeatedly asking for dates or contact information.

Participants engaging in harassing behaviour may be sanctioned in any way organisers. Such sanctions may include a formally warning to stop the behaviour, a request to leave the Meeting without refund immediately, or a report of the behaviour to a partner institution.

SPEAKER AND SPONSOR MATERIALS

Sponsors and speakers are required not to use sexualised images or content in their marketing materials, talk slides, notes or presentations. If this material is impossible to avoid given the topic (for example text mining of material from hate sites) the existence of this material should be noted both in the abstract and at the start of the talk.

The organisers of the Bayesian Nonparametrics Networking Workshop reserves the right to remove sponsor display or materials or stop a talk that contains inappropriate sexualised content or content that may reasonably amount to harassment.
