Journal of Organizational Behavior publishing workshop 2025
The Journal of Organizational Behavior, in collaboration with the Monash Business School Department of Management, invites you to attend this one-day publishing workshop led by JOB’s Editor-In-Chief Dr Christian Resick from Drexel University (Philadelphia, USA).
The morning session will focus on strategies for writing impactful papers and navigating the publication process through a series of presentations and interactive discussions.
Topics include:
- Introduction to the JOB
- Overview of the publishing process
- Theory-method alignment
- Developing the purpose, contribution, and conceptual argument selling an engaging story, and
- Methodological rigor and transparency.
The afternoon session provides an opportunity for participants to refine a working paper through interactive discussions and feedback from members of the JOB editorial team. The afternoon session will also include discussions about the review and revision process.
Pre-work
Participants are asked to submit a 2 – 3 page (double-spaced) summary of a working paper that addresses the following questions regarding the paper’s purpose, contribution, and methodology:
- What issue is motivating this paper, and how is this research aiming to advance our understanding of the topic?
- What are the research questions or hypotheses?
- What is the research design?
- What are the preliminary findings?
Please email your draft to Dr Christian Resick by 21 March 2025 and bring two hard copies with you to the workshop.
The workshop is free, and catering will be provided. Please register below before 21 March 2025. If you will be joining for lunch please ensure to select the RSVP option "yes, in meeting room" to aid with catering and ensure we minimise wastage.
Speaker profile
Dr Christian Resick is the J. Donald Rauth Term Professor at Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business and an affiliated faculty member of the FIRST center in the Dornsife School of Public Health.
His research focuses on the social and cognitive psychological processes associated with leader influence, teamwork and organisational culture and climate. Leadership is a primary focus of his research.
Dr Resick is the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Organizational Behavior. He also sits on the editorial boards of the Journal of Applied Psychology, The Leadership Quarterly, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Human Relations and the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies.
