Alumni Panel: Will robots eat my job, or will tech make me rich? - San Francisco
Technological change, automation and AI, digitalisation, new business models, smart machines, IoT, blockchain - existing businesses and entire sectors are being disrupted, the average lifespan of companies on the S&P has already shrunk from 35 years in 1980 to 18 years today and professions are being reconfigured or in danger of disappearing altogether.
In Australia, 40% of current jobs are considered at high risk of automation. At the same time, of course, technology creates new opportunities, accelerates innovation and lowers the barriers to entrepreneurship.
Everyone seems to have a hustle project, growth hack, start-up or an idea for one, and not just in the Bay area.
Is entrepreneurship the answer? Is rapid innovation and agility really the new imperative for organisations and individuals? What businesses will survive, and what new businesses will prosper?
Come to this exciting and interactive panel discussion to hear from some of the most interesting entrepreneurs and thought leaders reflect on these issues.
Panellists:
- Ms Tan Le (BCom (Hons) and LLB (Hons), Founder and CEO of EMOTIV and Chair of Global Leaders Network Advisory Committee – West Coast
- Mr David Cannington (BBus), Co-Founder and EVP of Sales and Marketing of Nuheara
- Ms Alexandra Kinloch (BArts), Executive Leadership Coach and Business Strategist for The Inside Academy.
Registration and networking starts at 6.00pm with drinks and canapés being served on arrival.
After the panel discussion, join us for networking with alumni, industry representatives, our Monash students currently visiting Berkeley and friends.
