Monash Business School and Monash Faculty of Law present four chairpersons of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, past and present, for a conversation about new challenges facing the ACCC, plus its major achievements and lessons learned.

The ACCC, Australia's competition regulator, ensures compliance with the Competition and Consumer Act.

With the ACCC’s decades of enforcement experience, this roundtable will consider how competition law enforcement has evolved in line with the changing Australian economy. Our distinguished speakers will consider the ACCC’s role throughout that evolution, and the institutional and strategic challenges it faces.

These include a digitalising economy dominated by ‘big tech’ and fast-changing technologies. The roundtable will also discuss whether new amendments to the Competition and Consumer Act are needed.
