International Women’s Day provides an important opportunity to celebrate women’s achievements and elevate visibility while encouraging everyone to help build an inclusive world.

The global theme for 2023 is #EmbraceEquity. Join us for breakfast on Tuesday 7 March, when guests will hear from a panel of Monash University alumni who are all esteemed female leaders. They’ll share personal stories of challenging gender stereotypes, changing the status quo, calling out bias and seeking inclusion.

Other topics will include: 'What are the most effective ways to embrace equity, especially in the workplace?' and 'What continuing barriers to gender equity remain?'

Keynote Speakers

The Hon. Gabrielle Williams MPGabrielle Williams

Gabrielle Williams is the current Victorian Minister for Mental Health, Minister for Ambulance Services and the Minister for Treaty and First Peoples. She was appointed to the Cabinet in 2018, having previously served as a Parliamentary Secretary, and proudly represents her local community as the Member for Dandenong. The priorities Gabrielle has for her community are to support jobs and education. She wants to ensure her community has access to first class educational facilities and education pathways that are connected to secure employment opportunities. She believes that strong and accessible employment is key to addressing many of the other challenges that arise in communities. Gabrielle holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Monash University. She has previously worked as a lawyer and project manager and has served as a director of a not-for-profit disability sport organisation. Gabrielle is a passionate advocate for equity and social inclusion and is proud to be a member of Victoria’s first ever gender-equal cabinet.

Kylie Watson-Wheeler Kylie Watson-Wheeler

Kylie Watson-Wheeler is the Senior Vice President & Managing Director, of The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand and the President of the Western Bulldogs (AFL Club). Kylie is responsible for The Walt Disney Company in Australia and New Zealand across Film, TV, live events, digital, home entertainment, content distribution and streaming services. She manages a portfolio of content and products across Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, ESPN, ABC Studios (US), 20th Century Fox and National Geographic. She also has regional responsibility across Asia Pacific for ESPN and National Geographic.

Bedi OthowBedi Othow

Bedi is a passionate Human Resource professional and a strong advocate for inclusion within the workplace. She wears many hats including being the Acting Head of Corporate Services at the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission,the proud co-founder of DivTal and a fashion model.
