How manufacturers can embrace the circular economy: Workshops
These in-person workshops follow online seminars which introduced the circular economy, benefits of it, and how others started their journey.
Monash Business School, together with South East Melbourne Manufacturers Alliance (SEMMA), invite you to take part in one of these workshops, which is jointly funded by Sustainability Victoria and Monash Business School.
Who should attend:
- Manufacturing businesses (from any sector) that are beginning their circular economy journey or wanting to know more about initial practices to start the journey.
What we will do:
- Based on a basic assessment of your supply and waste chains (completed pre-workshop), we will collaboratively assess opportunities for input refusal (and change) and waste reduction. Based upon others’ past successful experience, we will facilitate the design of targeted strategies for your business and across the supply chain, inclusive of specific practices and means to implement these to overcome probable barriers and challenges (change management issues).
What outcomes will you achieve:
- A plan for successful implementation for the refusal of waste generating inputs: Identification and developing practices for R0 (refuse) circularity
- A plan for successful implementation for the reduction of waste outputs: Identification and developing practices for R1 (reduce) circularity
- The first steps of your circular economy journey
Workshop facilitators
Workshop facilitators for the workshop will include the Monash Business School team that has been leading this project, a circular economy expert from the Netherlands, and local practitioners.
Professor Amrik Sohal and Associate Professor Glen Croy from Monash Business School will be the hosts for these workshops. The Monash team have many years of experience in manufacturing and supply chain management and have successfully engaged with local industry over three decades.
