WOMBAT 2022: Communicating with data
Organised by the Monash Business Analytics Team (WOMBAT), this workshop will bring together data analysts from academia, industry and government to learn and discuss new open-source tools for business analytics and data science.
This year’s theme, Communicating with Data, recognises data’s importance in driving the world around us. Speakers and tutorial presenters will share their experiences, and their new open-source tools for working with data.
Keynote Speaker
Amanda Cox is head of special data projects at USAFacts, a non-profit that makes government data more accessible. She is internationally known for her inspiring NYT data visualisations, and her current work making government data easy to access.
Amanda spent 16 years at The New York Times, including a decade on the graphics desk, and six years as the editor of The Upshot. She is recognised as a leader in the field of data visualisation, and has received numerous awards for her data communication work. This will be her first trip down under!
