Joel Kuperholz

Chief Executive Officer, BeeRight

Joel is an Industry Fellow at Monash Business School, teaching BEX5413 – Technology and Innovation for Start-ups.

A Monash alumnus in Engineering and Commerce, he brings more than a decade of experience turning ideas into working products, with prototyping expertise spanning assistive technologies, biosecurity systems, retail innovation, and industrial applications.

Joel co-founded Monash’s first Mars Rover team before launching BeeRight, where he developed the award-winning “Purple Hive”, an AI-enabled biosecurity platform for early detection of Varroa mite in honey bees.

His teaching combines practical experimentation, design thinking, and emerging technologies to prepare students for building ventures with real-world impact.
