Associate Professor Nga Pham
Director of External Engagement, Monash Centre for Financial Studies
Associate Professor Nga Pham is the Director of External Engagement at the Monash Centre for Financial Studies, Monash Business School, Monash University, with more than 25 years of experience in financial education, research and advisory services.
A/Prof Pham works on climate change, modern slavery, corporate governance, shareholder activism and pension systems. Her research aims to inform investors' decision-making. A/Prof Pham is a member of the Advisory Board of the Mercer CFA Institute Global Pension Index and Monash University's Modern Slavery Steering Committee. Her research has been featured in prestigious media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, The Australian Financial Review, and SBS World News.
A/Prof Pham is a member of the Global Policy Committee of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN). Before that, she co-chaired the Financial Capital Committee and served on the ICGN Disclosure and Transparency Committee.
She is an ESG consultant at the International Finance Corporation and a member of the World Bank Group, working with the advisory team on services for corporate clients, policy advocacy, and market capacity building for emerging markets.
A/Prof Pham was an academic at Hanoi University in Vietnam for more than 15 years before joining Monash. She assumed various leadership roles, including Executive Director of the La Trobe–HANU joint programs, and Vice Dean and Dean of the Faculty of Management and Tourism.
She co-authored the book State on Board! Navigating Corporate Governance in Emerging Market Business, based on the insights from her PhD thesis.
A/Prof Pham is a CFA charterholder and a member of the Board of Directors of the CFA Society Australia.
