We’re helping young people navigate one of the most challenging life transitions – moving from high school to university – in our new podcast, ‘What I wish I knew about studying business’.

With our partner, student advocacy service Student Edge, we help answer some of the biggest questions from school leavers in a five-episode series featuring our fantastic current and former Monash Business School ambassadors.

Podcast hosts, youth finance commentators Bryce Leske and Alec Renehan (known for the popular Equity Mates podcast) present episodes monthly until October.

Coping with the hustle and bustle of a big campus, where to find support, what to do if you want to change courses, and of course, where to find the best coffee, are just some of the issues covered.

In the first episode, IT and Commerce student Fiona Tran talks about how she navigated the culture change from school to campus.

“It was a bit of a blur…but my perception of uni definitely did change," she said.

And what about if you’re moving countries as an international student? We cover that in detail too, through an episode with current Marketing student Oshani Paranagama.

Oshani was thrown in the deep end when Melbourne entered a COVID lockdown on her second day of uni.

“(I was in an online) accounting tutorial and nobody was talking to each other... I was like, 'oh my God I'm not gonna have any friends these entire three years…but it was completely the opposite,” she recalled.

Then there’s tips on how to get on-the-job experience during your studies, and start making your first career moves.

Now in his dream job, recent Marketing graduate Aleks Corke shared in Episode 3 how in his uni years "all of these different people and opportunities acted as steps on the staircase for me to reach that ultimate goal".
