Professor Michaela Rankin

Head, Department of Accounting

A professor of Accounting, Prof Rankin joined Monash University in 2007, and has held a range of leadership roles, including Deputy Dean (International and Accreditation) at Monash Business School, and within the Department of Accounting, Director of Education and Deputy Head of Department.

Prof Rankin is a highly regarded educator, and her passion and commitment to the student learning experience has been formally recognised in awards from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and Monash University. In addition to her lengthy service to academia, Prof Rankin has maintained a strong presence in professional and industry circles.

Her research focuses on corporate governance, financial reporting, executive compensation and sustainability, and integrated reporting, with her work being published widely across top journals.
