Ric Sotelo

Industry Fellow

Ric has over 25 years of experience in corporate finance and strategy development.  He has substantial experience in mergers and acquisitions, project finance and capital raisings.  This experience has been across sectors that include infrastructure, energy, circular economy, Medtech, critical minerals, mining, manufacturing, Software as Service and healthcare.

He began his career with ICI Australia (now Orica) and Dow Chemical as a chemical engineer.  After completing an MBA, he moved into corporate finance roles at several major industrial companies and in financial services, including private equity, project finance and investment banking.  He is the founder and owner of licenced corporate advisory firm Headway Capital.

His qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering (First Class Honours) from the UNSW, an MBA from the University of Melbourne and a CPA.  Ric is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Member of CPA Australia, and a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers.

Ric applies his industry experience to a suite of units in the Master of Advanced Finance, such as Project Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions and Case Studies in Finance.
